Interesting conversation in line~
Chatting about knitting with the next person in line... started out great with her passively insulting me (those needles cost you how much?) Luckily it went a bit better from there when the conversation went to charity knitting & the whole yarn shop thing got brought up.
Then she threw an interesting comment to me
"We like to patronize small yarn shops when we can" (used the pronunciation that usually means to be condescending pat ron ize rather than pa tron ize)
I had to stare at her a few moments to realize she meant to say that word a little different and that she wasn't insulting me again.
I guess we can blame this one on the English language. We have 2 words that are spelled the same & pronounced very similarly but that have very different meanings. Go Figure!
