Orange...

I'm knitting lots of orange right now. Orange is not one of those colors I love, but I don't hate it either. Perhaps it's just one of those colors that can go wrong very quickly... (like some especially fugly green & orange sock yarn I was gifted once) Right now though, Michigan is mostly cold, wet, and gray so the orange is a nice bright spot in my day. We had a nice break in the cloud cover on my way home so I snapped a quick Saturday Sky picture in my side view mirror.

Tonight I went to listen to an evening of Mozart. This called for a mobile knitting project (don't worry I put it away during the concert). I remembered that I had been knitting those handspun socks up until a few days ago. So out they came & I knit about half a sock!

On the first sock I was still a  bit worried about yardage and it's snug but not too small. Now that I see how much yarn I have left & think I may rip the first toe and knit about another 1/2 inch just to be on the safe side.

I also spent a bit of time on the orange baby sweater. The body is all finished & now I'm fudging my way through the sleeves. It's such a simple design that I'm changing it to picked up stitches (rather than seams) and knit in the round where ever possible. The big stalling point now is finding those pesky size 5 double points...
