So, my camera is at the store, so I can't show you the lovely lace weight I've spun over the last few days...
I managed to be a bit more consistent in width & straitening out those fatter spots helped with the yardage too. 530yd in 1.8oz (Helen's Lace & Zepher both have about 560yd in 1.8oz, so this is pretty true lace weight!)
Instead I'm going to tell you about my crazy day.
Yesterday I finally gave up on photographing my Yarn Abroad box out in Lansing (due to 4 days of rain) & finished getting things together to send it off. A few errands later I headed to the Post Office.
I had about 5 packages to mail, only 2 were already in boxes and I was planning on using the boxes they had there. I gathered up everything, made sure I had all the addresses, and had a hell of a senior moment.
I locked my keys in the car!
(and my cell phone & my AAA card & so forth...)
I figure I'll go mail my packages & then find a way to get my spare keys. I walk into the post office to find that they were closed for the day due to a computer problem. So many people had been using the automated machine in the lobby that there was no packaging left!
I mail what I can, check for change for the pay phone with no luck, then toted my 3 bags of yarn 2 blocks to the library to try to find a phone. 2 calls later I remember that my brother is at school & my mom is out to dinner with a coworker.
Then the universe threw me a bone....
In walk Joy & Jennifer, 2 wonderful people I've met at the yarn shop. Joy gave me a ride home, where I picked up my keys, a few USPS boxes & brought me back to my car.
Thank You Joy! You saved me big time yesterday.
I hope this didn't boar you too much. I just couldn't believe what good luck I had. Lansing Knitters are just such a great group of people.
