Folksy Dragon

Today the Dragon Shawl & I had a big day.
We spent the weekend down at the Great Lakes Folk Fest. Great music, great food, & lots of creative people.
Especially over at the guild tent.
This afternoon I worked with our local knitting guild showing off the guilds handiwork and chatting with the crowd.
I think the knitters really came though bringing in some impressive samples to show the public.

That's Lynn up there with her incredible knitted self portrait.
My other favorite bit about the Folk Fest is that it's only 4 miles away & the wooded bike path runs almost all the way there. Some beautiful flowers were blooming along the path.

The other bit of celebration is that last night I bound off the dragon shawl!!!

He's pre-blocked and ready for edging. He's also much much bigger than I expected. I think he has a 7 or 8 foot wing span as it is and the edging will add another 4 inches on each side! Perhaps the fact that I knit loose & that this yarn really stretches made a bigger difference than I anticipated.

I started the edging at the Folk Fest, the chains look so nice around the edge.

Dragons are supposed to be large! He turned out great.

I love the way Lynn cocks her head to the side when she poses next to her self portrait to match it--in case we couldn't tell it was her in the portrait!

Wow! The dragon shawl is AMAZING! He really did turn out great.

Your shawl is spectacular!

Beautiful shawl. You amaze me.

Pat DeLeeuw:

Wow, he is magnificent!! I can't wait for the workshop about him.

Read about your (FABULOUS!) shawl on Vera Knits but for some reason your webpage looks strange in Firefox. :( I hope it's just me!
