I hit a big check point on my first Argyle sock. The leg is now finished!
I love this point in a sock because you can really see the pattern and how the colors are working. I'm quite happy with this sock. I know my skills have improved already. The second diamonds are much nicer and the diagonals are night and day in person.
I've decided to mark these as my practice pair for the Master's Program. I'm just finishing up level one & argyle socks aren't until level two. I don't think I could wait that long to wear them! Plus, given the improvement on just this sock, the third sock should be stellar!
Tonight I jumped on a rare event... an empty house!
I was going to spend it at the guild knit-in, but with no AC in my car I just couldn't bring myself to drive that distance.
Instead I left all the lights off, curled up on the couch with a glass of wine and my argyle socks. I suppose I'm lucky they didn't inadvertently turn into drunken argyles~
Life is so good sometimes...
(don't worry it balances out eventually *smirk*)

Ahhhh - wine and knitting - I remember the days ;) My mom told me horror stories of knitting argyle socks in the 50's using a gazillion bobbins - how would you categorize the skill level on them?

Another great class idea-argyle socks. Ilove to knit socks but have never tried argyle. You are such a prolific knitter-do you get a chance to knit much at the shop? Married? Children? Is that nosy enought for you?
