Ikea Trip

Img_6851
We left bright and early to travel to the new Ikea store in Canton. After a few false turns and stops (plus the standard Michigan construction) we managed to get there just a few minutes before they opened the gate.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Ikea there are a few things you need when you walk in the door.

Here you find the shopping lists (to find things in the flat pack warehouse later...) an official IKEA golf pencil, a tape measure, and most importantly a bright yellow Ikea shopping bag.
There are lots of reasons I love Ikea...
1. They flat pack furniture so even those of us without over sized SUVs or Trucks can bring home more stuff than we need. We fit a new arm chair, 2 side tables, a DVD rack, a Drawer unit, and lots of other stuff all in the car with room to spare!
2. Great Style and low prices. Even the self employed can afford this stuff.
3. A fun shopping experience!

I mean... how nice is that!
4. Every thing has fun names... we got a brand new Poang chair.

My favorite purchase today is a Blimp light.

The ring lights up and it projects stars, moons, and planets all around the room.

I also found great fabric to make some new curtains.

Trent was overwhelmed by all of the assembly and new furniture...

While Siouxsie made it her personal mission to sleep on every new thing in the house.

Isn't IKEA great? It might interest you that the chant by Germans at the FIFA cup match Germany/Sweden was "You are only furniture suppliers".
We are hitting IKEA in Atlanta on Friday and are pleased to welcome our own IKEA to Orlando next year.

jen:

ooooh i totally WANT a blimp light!
