I've been bitten by the Norway knitting bug. I believe it's quite contagious because a plethora of Local knitters also seem to be infected. The cure? A Norsk Strikkedesign knit along!
Wow, have you all seen this book. Pure eye candy. Every design is stunning and quite an advanced knit. We'll all be helping each other hobble along with this one.
Of course the design I fell in love with is written in only one size, not mine. So, I'm rewriting it in my size and, as long as I'm at it, in a more comfortable Gauge (18 sts/4" instead of 21 sts/4"). This cardigan should be yummy knit with Kathmandu Aran (merino, silk, cashmere). I'm going to dye for a few colors this yarn doesn't come in, like a rich blue or medium green.
Being a good knitter I can't start on this project till one of my many UFOs is finished. I need size 8 needles, so I'm finishing my Soho baby cardigan. Last night I finished the hood and most of the sleeves, so I should be ready to swatch my Norsk sweater by tonight.
Tomorrow I start fall semester. I only have a technical writing course and an art history course this semester. I'll probably bore all of you Monday and Wednesday nights with art stuff (at least my writing will improve).
