Fiber Bliss

This past weekend was Michigan Fiber Fest in Allagen. I spend all day Sunday there and all day Monday washing the fleeces the followed me home.
I think Sunday was a great day to go... mainly it was less crowed. This year was also about 70 degrees out, so all in all it was very comfortable. I did bring home more than I was planning on.
So,
First off I found a few ounces of fin roving. I was hoping for a fleece, but I think I was luck to find any at all. The earliest I could even reserve a fleece was 2007. I'm going to knit the Finn scarf from the last Spin Off issue.
Next, I picked up a few silk caps. I want to play around with dyeing them and knitting from the cap.

JacobfleeceThen I found the other fleece I went to the show for, Jacob.
For some reason I've been obsessed with finding a good Jacob fleece lately. The one I found at the show has dark blacks and snowy white, a fine crimp, and best of all is extremely soft.

This is when things went bad. I had found everything I went for, but somehow I ended up with 2 more fleeces.
CorridalefleeceFirst off, I found best corriedale I've ever seen. The sheep wore a jacket all year, so the fleece is free of all vegetable matter. One wash to remove the grease and ready to spin. Very nice defined locks and fine crimp. The photo makes it look yellow, but the camera really distorted the color.

Finally, Elise was looking for a Coopsworth fleece for a friend and we fell in love with this gray coopworth. Long locks and cream tips accentuate this shiny soft wool. So, it came home. We each kept 1/2 which was about 2 pounds once it was washed.
